Windward Community College Garden Tour

Approximately 50 participants from around the island, including donors and alumni, came to explore the Nursing and Agripharmatech Bioprocessing Medicinal Gardens on April 23.

Windward Community College Chancellor Doug Dykstra along with the Windward Community College Ambassadors sponsored the Garden Tour with Food Demonstration and Tasting on the scenic campus on April 23. This inaugural event was a collaboration of faculty, staff, and students highlighting the Hawaiian Studies, Agripharmatech, Nursing, and Food Service programs.

After walking through the gardens, guests toured the Hale A‘o Hawaiian Studies Complex and listened to a presentation about credit and non-credit educational pathways available for students.

The event ended with a food demonstration of dishes incorporating some of the native plants grown in the gardens.  Participants delighted their taste buds with delectable samplings and went home with important health information.

The Windward Community College Ambassadors seek to showcase the impressive programs at the college and hope to host another event in the fall.
