The University of Hawai‘i School of Architecture Alumni Association (UHSAAA) held its 24th Annual Student Scholarship Golf Tournament on March 31, 2017 at the Hawaii Prince Golf Club. Over 170 players and volunteers from the architecture, engineering and construction industry enjoyed a pleasant day of fun and camaraderie, all in the name of raising funds for the UHSAAA Scholarship Endowment.  This year UHSAAA awarded a $4,000 undergraduate scholarship to Sharla Batocal, and a $3,000 graduate scholarship to Kristoffer Jugueta.

The UHSAAA Student Scholarship golf tournament began in 1994 with the goal of establishing a scholarship to support promising, full-time architecture students. To fund this scholarship, alumni co-chairs Ron Awa, Class of 1971, and Lanz Yamamoto, Class of 1985, with a small team of dedicated volunteers organized our first golf tournament at Pearl Country Club. Now, 24 years later, with Ron’s continued active involvement, the UHSAAA tournament is still going strong and the UHSAAA Scholarship Endowment stands at over $130,000.

Be sure to mark your calendar for UHSAAA’s Silver Anniversary Scholarship Golf Tournament on March 23, 2018 at Pearl Country Club!
