UHAA & Friends Las Vegas annual meeting

Twenty-seven folks attended the annual general membership meeting of the UH Alumni Association & Friends Las Vegas Chapter on Sunday, July 23, 2017. The group discussed events the chapter sponsored over the last year and the funds raised for their scholarship awards to UH-bound students from the Las Vegas area. Also discussed were planned events for the coming year.

The chapter’s fundraising efforts allowed them to award a $2,000 unrestricted scholarship to Alexa Lyons, who will matriculate at UH this fall.

The majority of funds raised last year came from the chapter’s annual “Stew Night,” which will take place this coming year on March 3, 2018.

Coming up this fall is “pūpū night” which will be held on Thursday, November 2 in the Ohana Room at the California Hotel and Casino in advance of the UH/UNLV football game in Las Vegas on November 4. All UH supporters are welcome. Click here for more information or contact Bill and Merriam Olds.
