The Architecture community was saddened by the recent passing of Dr. A. Bruce Etherington on January 15, 2016.
Dr. Etherington, who was a member of the University of Hawai‘i School of Architecture Alumni Association Board of Directors, had been working on a history project for the School of Architecture and the UHSAAA for the past few years.
Despite his ailing health, Dr. Etherington, ever the go getter, hosted a “Talk Story” at the School of Architecture on December 11, 2015 with a few alumni from the 1966–1968 year group to reminisce and gather their recollections from a key period of the Architecture School’s history—the acquisition and occupation of their first building, “Hale Aloha.”
A memorial service for Dr. Etherington will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 4 p.m. at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa School of Architecture Auditorium.
Please take a moment and read about Dr. Etherington and his incredible contribution to the world.
