2016 UHM Nursing Spring Pau Hana

On Thursday, April 21, 2016, the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Nursing Alumni Association (UHMNAA) and Student Nurses Association (SNA) took part in their 2nd Pau Hana networking event held at Uncle Bo’s Pupu Bar & Grill, which brought together the UHM Nursing alumni and students to discuss transitioning from college into the career of nursing.

The event started off with a “meet and greet” icebreaker and transitioned into a question and answer session. Throughout the event, thoughtful and intriguing questions were prepared by UH Mānoa Nursing Student Ambassadors with input from their classmates and the alumni provided valuable insight and tips for success. The evening’s open dialog topics included: the application and interview process, how to best showcase achievements, work experience, work ethic, and a wide range of nursing careers available today. Alumni were also able to gain insight into what students are looking for as they begin their careers. The evening concluded with 10 lucky number drawings donated by Candy Beach Jewelry, UHM Athletics, the UHM Bookstore, and the UH Alumni Association.

Both students and alumni look forward to the next Pau Hana event in Fall 2016.
