Call for stories: Remembering Pearl Harbor

December 7th, 2016 marks the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, a memorable day for many veterans and Hawai‘i residents alike. The annual commemoration of the attack aims to encourage remembrance, reflection and understanding and to celebrate the many years of peace between the United States and Japan.

In anticipation of the 75th Commemoration of Pearl Harbor, we are collecting stories from UH alumni on the outbreak of the war and what it meant to those who experienced it, including Pearl Harbor survivors, World War II veterans and civilians.

We will post these stories and photos on the UH Alumni website as part of UH’s contribution to the 75th Commemoration of Pearl Harbor.

Your voice is important in helping to remember this significant event and we value your contribution. If you have a story to share or would like to share a story on behalf of a family member or friend, we invite you to submit it to [email protected] along with a photo if available. Please submit stories before November 10th.
