Alumna’s journey from messenger to top lawyer

Judy Tanaka is an incredible alumna with a success story to match, as she entered her first adult job as a messenger and rose to become director of one of Hawai‘i's premier law firms, Alston Hunt Floyd & Ing.

Tanaka's path includes receiving guidance from her shorthand instructor at Kapi‘olani Community College (KCC), enrolling in the paralegal program at Kapi‘olani CC, taking night courses to earn a BBA in business management from UH Mānoa, and eventually graduating from the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.
