Join us for a virtual “talk and taste” event featuring University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa alumnus Peter Hessler, owner of Pono Potions.

Pono Potions specializes in producing all natural, locally sourced artisan syrups that highlight the flavors of Hawai‘i. 

Hear Peter and his team share the story of how Pono Potions came to be, what goes into the production of their artisan syrups and what they enjoy most about their work. Plus, enjoy a special mocktail demonstration featuring select Pono Potions syrups followed by a Q&A session with the Pono Potions team!

For a limited time you can purchase a Pono Potions + UH Alumni gift set to use during the mocktail demonstration. Gift sets include two five ounce Pono Potion sample syrups, a UH Alumni coaster and reusable straw set and two exclusive Pono Potions cocktail recipe cards. Gift sets will be shipped ahead of the March 18 event. About the speakers

Peter Hessler
President

Peter Hessler has knowledge of the wants and needs of craft coffee shops and restaurants. He worked as a cook in Portland at fine dining restaurants including under Bravo TV’s “Top Chef” runner-up, Gregory Gourdet. As his love for cooking developed into a love for mixology, he moved to Honolulu in 2016 and became one of the original bartenders at Moku Kitchen where he developed numerous drinks on their menu and ultimately became a front of house manager. Because of Peter’s repertoire of experience, he has the talent to create flavors that appeal to our customer segments, as well as developing new products to expand our company in the future.

Christilei Hessler
Chief Legal Counsel

Christilei Hessler is a practicing attorney in the State of Hawai‘i. She has assisted the company with getting trademarks, drafting contracts with our craft coffee shop clientele, and advising our company on organic, vegan, gluten-free, and “Made In Hawai‘i” certifications for our products. Christilei is also the current bookkeeper for Pono Potions. Utilizing her keen attention to detail and organizational skills that she has developed throughout her career, she records all transactions, keeps track of everyday costs and income, and produces monthly financial statements.

Madonna Castro Perez
Director of Operations and Marketing Analyst

Madonna Castro Perez was born and raised on Guam and is a first-year law student and a Lehua Scholar at the William S. Richardson School of Law. Madonna has experience in coordinating and marketing large events through her repertoire of past opportunities as an intern at the American Legislative Exchange Council, Graduate Student Representative, Resident Advisor of her undergraduate school, President of the International House of Programming, and various volunteer activities. She also runs an Instagram food blog that highlights her love of exciting dishes.

Holoholo at Home is a virtual version of the Holoholo event series.
