UH Mānoa Pau Hana and Politics

On April 20, UH alumni Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth and Congressman K. Mark Takai spoke to a crowd of UH Mānoa alumni gathered at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill. This University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Pau Hana event focused on politics and highlighted the careers of both Congresswoman Duckworth and Congressman Takai.

Congressman Takai earned two degrees from UH Mānoa including a BA in political science and a master of public health. Takai expressed his pride at being an alumnus of UH Mānoa and highlighted that it was ranked 21st in national college rankings for colleges that produce the most members of Congress.

Along with Congresswoman Duckworth and Congressman Takai, Senator Mazie Hirono is also a UHM alumna and graduated with a BA in psychology.

Alumni enjoyed networking with each other during the night and hearing about latest UHM news from Dean Denise Konan (College of Social Sciences) and Dean Avi Soifer (William S. Richardson School of Law).
