Back in February, the Milken Family Foundation honored University of Hawai‘i alumni Jessica Villanueva, Masaru Uchino and Kelly Sutcliffe with the Milken Educator Award. On Saturday, March 25, the Milken Family Foundation held their annual forum in honor of all the Milken Educator awardees.

During the Milken Educator Awards Forum, they also were able to attend the 2017 National TAP Conference in New Orleans (March 23-25, 2017). The theme was Advancing Educator Effectiveness. Teachers from around the country discussed our most precious asset: students! The various panels afforded the educators to hear from leading national policy makers (including former Education Secretary John King), learn how teacher training is evolving in universities and gain insights into advances in educator evaluation from school to state levels.
