Rick Ching promoted to Servco president

Patrick “Rick” D. Ching has been named president of Servco Pacific Inc. He most recently served as executive vice president and chief operating officer (COO) of Servco and president of Servco Automotive Hawaii. He will also retain his title as COO. Ching succeeds Eric Fukunaga, who retired as president on March 31 but will continue in an advisory role as vice chairman of Servco’s board. Mark Fukunaga continues in his position as chairman and CEO of Servco.

His leadership has been instrumental in Servco’s unprecedented success, and I am personally grateful for his partnership over the last 20 years,” said Mark Fukunaga. “We are also fortunate to have such a longtime and valued employee like Rick Ching step in as president & COO of Servco Pacific Inc. to help guide our international growth.”

Ching added, “I am humbled and excited to be entrusted with the day-to-day management and leadership of the company. While we continue to grow throughout the Pacific, I look forward to continuing Servco’s commitment to our people, customers, and the communities we have the pleasure to serve.”

Ching joined Servco in 1985 in the corporate finance area, eventually rising to chief financial officer. He moved into Servco’s Automotive Operations in 2001, leading at different times both the automotive distribution and retail portions of the business. In 2006, Ching was promoted to executive vice president and in 2009, was promoted to president of Servco’s Hawaii Automotive Operations. Finally, in 2014 he was promoted to chief operating officer of Servco.

A Hawai‘i native, Ching received a BA in business administration and accounting from the University of Washington and an MBA in management from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Shidler College of Business. Ching is active in the community, serving on the boards of Diamond Head Theatre, American Red Cross – Hawaii State Chapter, and the Blood Bank of Hawaii.
