Tanaka inducted into PRWeek Hall of Fame

University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa alumna Patrice Tanaka (Mānoa, BA ’74) — cofounder of Patrice Tanaka & Co., CRT/tanaka and Padilla CRT—is being honored with an induction into the PRWeek Hall of Fame, an honor that recognizes giants in the communications industry whose dedication, expertise and influence have had a profound impact in their field.

A 1974 graduate of UH Mānoa’s journalism program in the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Tanaka recalls former Journalism Department Chair Robert Scott who helped her get her first full-time position at Hawaii Press Newspapers—a job that opened up a number of opportunities which eventually led her to the career she has today.

In 2003, Tanaka was recognized as a University of Hawai‘i Alumni Association distinguished alumna, an award that recognizes outstanding alumni who have used their education to excel professionally, provide inspirational leadership to others and provide service for the benefit of UH and the community.

“I am forever grateful to the University of Hawai‘i and will always remain a proud graduate,” said Tanaka.

Tanaka will be inducted into the PRWeek Hall of fame on December 5, 2016 in New York City.
