JABSOM alumna Dr. Angela Pratt gives back

Physicians and staff of the University of Hawaiʻi Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Women’s Health (OB-GYN) gathered on May 9, 2017 to celebrate the “Angela Pratt Endowment,” a gift created by Chief OB-GYN at Kapiʻolani Medical Center for Women and Children (KMCWC), Dr. Angela Pratt. This generous contribution by Dr. Pratt, an alumna of the ʻImi Hoʻōla Post-Baccalaureate Program and the John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) MD Program (1996), will help support the development of OB-GYN resident training on neighbor islands, research in Native Hawaiian Women’s Health and professional development of faculty, residents and fellows.

About Dr. Pratt
Dr. Pratt is from Kauaʻi and is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools and the University of Puget Sound in addition to JABSOM. Before medicine, she studied business and pre-med. She also worked for Hawaiian Airlines and was Miss Honolulu and the runner up both to Miss Hawaiʻi and Mrs. Hawaiʻi in each of those pageants. She is the first Native Hawaiian and first woman department chair at Kapiʻolani. She is also a supporter of the American Heart Association, the Hawaiʻi Food Bank, the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the Children’s Miracle Network.
