JABSOM alum discovers first Zika outbreak

Only four years after he graduated, W. Thane Hancock (JABSOM, '07), was working as a family doctor in Yap when several patients came into the clinic exhibiting similar symptoms. Because he was schooled in Problem-Based Learning at JABSOM, he was able to diagnose the first recorded ZIKA outbreak.
