Held publishes nineteenth poetry collection

UH Mānoa alumnus George Held (Mānoa, MA English, '62) has published his nineteenth poetry collection, PHASED II (Poets Wear Prada, 2016), a new chapbook of poems about the moon for poetry and moon lovers alike.

A ten-time Pushcart Prize nominee, Held publishes widely both online and in print. His recent books include the poetry chapbooks Bleak Splendor (Muddy River Books, 2015) and PHASED II. Dog Hill Poems will be published by Koon Woon’s Goldfish Press (Seattle) this year.

Held received his MA in English from UH Mānoa in 1962. A retired professor of English at Queens College (CUNY), Held lives in Greenwich Village with his wife, Cheryl.
