Former UH rainbow dancer becomes NFL cheerleader

UH rainbow dancer alumna Simone Culwell ('15) is now a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader.

Culwell competed with hundreds of girls to claim one of the 36 spots on the team. The audition process included a round of freestyle dance, choreography learning, an interview, and a personal dance solo. After making the initial tryouts, Culwell endured eight weeks of training camp, where final cuts were made and the team was announced.

Simone is originally from Austin, Texas and graduated from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in 2015.

Viewers can watch “Making the Team” on Country Music Television (CMT) to follow Simone Culwell’s journey in becoming a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader.
