L’ulu – Leeward Culinary Arts Gala
L’ulu celebrated its 10th anniversary this year! The event featured 10 culinary program alumni who have careers in some of Hawai‘i’s top restaurants. These alumni came back to Leeward as proud graduates to support the next generation of industry professionals. The 10th anniversary “Feast for the Senses” offered guests an opportunity to indulge in the delectable cuisines of Hawai‘i’s finest chefs, the sounds of Sonya Mendez & Chica Tropica, and Noel Okimoto & Dean Taba. A special trunk show by Project Runway finalist Ari South completed the evening.
The event highlighted the partnerships between chefs and farmers that seek to manage our natural resources and environment in a sustainable manner and shape the local market. Guests enjoyed the mouthwatering contemporary cuisines, meeting the chefs and alumni, and talking story with the farmers who supply the restaurants with fresh nutritious products!
