Kapi‘olani CC Scholarship Mahalo Dinner
Donors, scholarship recipients and friends were treated to a special celebration of philanthropy in the ‘Ohia Building Cafeteria at Kapi‘olani CC. This annual donor recognition event brings students and donors together so that recipients of private support can share how scholarships are making a difference in their lives.
Nāwa‘a Napoleon emceed the lively program that featured Interim Chancellor Louise Pagotto, UH Foundation VP Rebecca Smith, Mark Nezu and Chef Justin Inagaki of Hy’s Steakhouse who spoke of the joys and reasons for giving, and alumnus Chef Eddie Mafnas from KCC’s Lē‘ahi Concept Kitchen who reflected on how Kapi‘olani CC prepared him for a successful career in the culinary industry.
