*Effective July 1, 2024, the starting salary will increase to $4,155 per month.

Note:  This is a full-time, temporary position, not-to-exceed June 30, 2024, with the possibility of extension

Summary of Duties

This position is located in the Disability Claims Management Division, located in the Human Resources Department, Office of the Administrative Director. The Division has the primary responsibility for the administration of the workers' compensation and temporary disability benefits program in compliance with the State of Hawaii's Workers' Compensation law and Temporary Disability Insurance law and applicable administrative rules.

This position is a trainee and receives on-the-job training and orientation in order to perform a variety of assignments from simple to moderately difficult work in the area of workers' compensation and claims management. The position's work assignments are characterized by clear and specific objectives and the application of well-established procedures and by direct application of specific standards, regulations and other similar guides.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Education Requirement:  Graduation from an accredited college or university.

Substitution of Experience for Education:  Progressively responsible experience in administrative, professional, investigative, technical or other responsible work which has provided a general background in the field of management, education, training or human resources administration may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
Experience of a routine clerical nature is not qualifying.
