Location: Honolulu, HI

Recruitment Number 24-011KS, Architect V, SR-26D ($6,177 per month) to SR-26L ($8,455 per month)*, Honolulu, O`ahu.

*Starting salary may be at a rate between the minimum to maximum salary range listed above, based on qualifications. 

Summary of Duties

The Architect V will be responsible for meeting with Judiciary administrators and managers to provide technical expertise, identifying and planning a broad array of short- and long-range capital improvement plans; coordinating and consulting with companion State architecture and engineering (A/E) professionals and specialized private sector A/E experts to provide guidance on CIP projects; rendering technical and analytical assistance to the Administrative Director of the Courts, administrators and program managers in planning or reviewing designs, cost estimates, renovation plans, construction plans and lease agreements; conducting on-site visits to evaluate existing conditions such as geographical locations and mechanical and electrical requirements, and evaluating economic feasibility, geographical limitations and aesthetic appearances while following pertinent applicable codes and regulations such as zoning, building, electrical and other special requirements; preparing designs and working drawings, plans, sketches, and specifications for minor projects; and performing other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Education Requirement:  A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in architecture or architectural engineering; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in architecture work which satisfies the requirements of the State of Hawaii’s Board of Professional Engineers, Architects, Surveyors, and Landscape Architects.
 
Specialized Experience:  One (1) year of registered professional architectural engineering experience.

License Requirements:

Applicants must possess a valid and current license and registration as a professional architect in the State of Hawaii; and possess an appropriate valid and current driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle.
