On Wednesday, March 14, a campus-wide Career Fair was held at UH Hilo’s Library Lanai. The fair was a collaborative effort organized by UHF Alumni Relations – Hawai‘i Island, the Career & Advising Center, the College of Business and Economics, and the College of Arts & Sciences.
Sponsored by GEICO, this was the first time a campus-wide fair was held and a record turnout of 42 employers and hundreds of students participated. Employers received free on-campus parking, complimentary lunch vouchers, and welcome kits with information on campus events and programs.
As a special courtesy to employers, organizers offered curbside pickup and drop off stations in the morning and also in the afternoon with student athletes from Vulcan Soccer and Baseball teams. The “Vulcan Kokua Crew”, armed with umbrellas, hand trucks and wagons, shuttled materials to and from cars to make it easier for participating vendors to get to and from their stations.
