UH West O‘ahu Distinguished Alumni Award

Nā Lehua ʻUla = The Red Lehua Blossoms. The ʻōhiʻa lehua trees traditionally found on the westside of O‘ahu are resilient and beautiful–one of the first plants to grow from a hardened lava flow. With the multiple varieties of the tree and colors of the blossom, there are different references of the blossom in poetry - warrior, friend, relative and expert. Similar to the poetic references, the Nā Lehua ʻUla Distinguished Alumni Award symbolizes the rich history and promise of UH West O‘ahu and the remarkable alumni who embraced their UH West O‘ahu education. The prestigious award honors alumni who have typified the UH West O‘ahu tradition of excellence, brought credit to the university by their personal accomplishment, professional achievement and outstanding community contributions.
