Join us in exploring the history of surfing in Hawai‘i with renowned historian, author and UH alumnus John Clark.

Discover the history of traditional Hawaiian surf sports, learn their cultural significance, and have an in-depth Q&A with John.

$15 ticket includes light pūpū and a no-host bar. Registration required and space is limited. Complimentary self-parking available in any designated parking stall at Kahili Golf Course.

John Clark was born and raised in Hawai‘i. He started surfing in 1954 when he was eight years old, and has been a life-long surfer ever since. He is a proud graduate of UH where he received an AS in Fire Science from Honolulu CC as well as a BA in Hawaiian Studies and an MA in Public Administration from UH Mānoa. He is also the author of ten books on Hawai‘i’s beaches, surf spots, and shoreline place names. Read more about John »
