UHAA–East Theater Party: Fishing for Wives

“Fishing for Wives,” a production written by UH graduate Edward Sakamoto, was the scene for a theater party hosted by UHAA–East on Sunday, April 6. There were 45 people who enjoyed this vintage romantic comedy at the Clurman Theatre in New York City. Ron Nakahara, born and raised in Hawai‘i and a fellow alum, directed the play and led a lively question and answer session following the show.

The excitement and energy continued over to dinner at the Dafni Greek Taverna. Patrice Tanaka, a 2003 UH Distinguished Alumni Award recipient, was familiar with the nearby restaurant and recommended the delicious lamb chops. Jeanette Takamura, a 1994 UH Distinguished Alumni Award recipient and dean of the Columbia University School of Social Work, joined the dinner as well. Also enjoying the evening were Hawaiian Airlines Regional Director Jannette Lau and her husband Dale.
