Paint Night at Koa Gallery

On April 28, the Kapi‘olani Community College Art Department held Paint Night at Koa Gallery, an art demonstration and learning experience. Kapi‘olani Community College alumnus and professional artist Blaine Hong shared his time and talent at the event. Hong understands the importance of giving back to where his love for art all started, his alma mater.

The event started with a social gathering inside the Koa Art Gallery where participants viewed a variety of student artwork consisting of oil paintings, ceramic sculptures, pottery, jewelry and photographs. Participants then moved into the painting classroom where they watched and listened intently to Hong’s demonstrations. Everyone had a wonderful time creating their own masterpieces while learning the basics of painting.

The Koa Art Gallery is open to the public and continually seeks charitable donations, volunteer support, and opportunities to meet new artists.
