Kapi‘olani Community College students win CanSat International Competition

Congratulations to the students of Kapi‘olani Community College’s STEM Program as they topped 24 other universities to win the CanSat International Competition. This event, sponsored by NASA, the National Science Foundation, The World’s Forum for Aerospace Leadership, and the American Aeronautical Society, was held on June 7–9 in Abilene, Texas.

The Kapi‘olani CC team, known as Team Mod 6, claimed victory for designing, building and launching a space-related mission. In January, they presented a 100-page document describing their design, followed by an actual final payload launch roughly 2,000 feet in the atmosphere above Texas.

Congratulations on this remarkable accomplishment!
