Hawai‘i CC Alumni & Friends Breakfast Fundraiser

Hawai‘i Community College Alumni & Friends held their 11th Annual Breakfast Fundraiser on Saturday, October 8, in the Hawai‘i CC Cafeteria. The event raised over $6,000 for the Hawai‘i CC Alumni & Friends Endowment (primarily for student scholarships). Approximately 900 tickets were sold thanks to the efforts of administrators, full-time and part-time faculty and staff, students, alumni and friends of the college.

In conjunction with the breakfast, the Hawai‘i CC Division of Nursing and Allied Health administered free blood pressure testing. Attendees could also peruse the country store featuring crafts, plants, produce, baked goods, artwork and ceramics. The store raised approximately $900 thanks to generous donations from faculty, staff and friends of the college and the efforts of the country store co-chairs, Jodi Mine and Lisa Kaluna.

The spirit and enthusiasm of the volunteers not only made the activity a huge success but a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. However, the primary beneficiaries of the fundraiser are the Hawai‘i CC students. In 2016‒2017, six students received $500 Alumni & Friends scholarships.
