Education alumni gather at reception for new dean


More than 60 Education alumni and friends enjoyed pūpū and refreshments, and welcomed College of Education Dean Donald Young at a reception in his honor on Jan. 17 at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai‘i. Young has been with the College since 1971, where he previously worked as educational associate, assistant and associate professor, and full professor. His administrative experience includes serving as director of UH Mānoa’s Curriculum Research and Development Group. He has also taught science at Kailua Intermediate School in Windward O‘ahu. He earned a PhD in educational administration from UH Mānoa and a master’s degree in science education and bachelor of science degree in biology from the State University of New York at Albany.
