The UH Mānoa College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources invites you to the 28th Annual Awards Banquet, which will honor 2016 Outstanding Alumnus William J. Aila Jr. for his work to preserve Hawai‘i’s environmental and cultural resources.

Joining the former Department of Land and Natural Resources chair will be Ernest Tottori, chairman of HPC Foods Inc. and its iconic Taro Brand, who will receive the 2016 Ka Lei Hano Award for agriculture leadership in Hawai‘i.

Also being recognized are Sen. Daniel Akaka and his Akaka Foundation for Tropical Forests and the 50th anniversary of Fashion Design and Merchandising’s Senior Fashion Show, along with Student Research Symposium winners and recipients of faculty, staff and student excellence and service awards.

The banquet, which begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Ala Moana Hotel Hibiscus Ballroom, also brings together the recipients of CTAHR scholarships with the donors who make them possible.

It will be the 4th and final banquet for CTAHR Dean Maria Gallo, who will leave the college in June to become the president of Delaware Valley University in Pennsylvania.

See the CTAHR Banquet website for more information about the event and honorees, or register online by April 25.
