Senior Accountant

Location: Honolulu, Hawaii

Assist in performing, maintaining and overseeing all general accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Labor & Leave.

Assist with evaluating and identifying internal control weaknesses, and establish and implement internal controls, policies, and procedures.

Exercise compliance with external auditors for audited financial statements and income tax returns.

Assist in maintaining financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Work with Program and Project Management to ensure accurate invoices are submitted in a timely fashion and accruals are recorded accurately when necessary.

Complete intercompany project setup in Costpoint and maintain project information and expense mappings.

Create and reconcile intercompany cost transfers within Costpoint.

Prepare and submit intercompany billings in accordance with company procedures.

Complete intercompany project closeouts as needed.

Maintain user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies.

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Complete ad hoc/other requests as necessary.

Qualifications:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with emphasis in Word, Excel, Outlook, and on-line search engines required. Must be self-motivated, efficient at multi-tasking and possess exceptional oral and written communication skills. Previous experience reviewing and compiling financial statements. Familiarity with Government Contracting & Deltek Costpoint is preferred. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar discipline from an accredited institution

Experience working in an accounting environment is preferred

Experience in or work for the U.S. military is highly desirable

Pay range for this position is from $70,000 per year to $90,000 per year. Exact rate of pay will be based on position and experience level.
