Dig trenches, backfill excavations, compact and level earth to grade specifications using shovels, picks, rakes, compactors, etc.
Perform a variety of construction related tasks including but are not limited to heavy lifting, cleaning of equipment, cleaning and preparing construction site to eliminate possible hazards, etc.
Measure, cut, thread and assemble new pipe, placing the assembled pipe.
Assembly and installation of pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.
Perform rough-ins, install new or replace existing valves, cleanouts and vacuum release vents
Tap or tie into existing pressure piping using sleeves and saddles
Fit or assist in fitting valves, couplings, or assemblies to tanks, pumps, or systems, using hand tools
Assist in rigging of pipe and pipe assemblies for installation in trenches, vaults and manholes
Disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe
Operate construction tools and equipment such as power tools, rollers
Load, unload, transport, and stage construction materials, equipment, and tools.
Assist with excavation, underground utilities, and general site preparation duties.
Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.
Maintain visual and audible contact with other crew members and all moving or stationary persons, vehicles, or objects to ensure safe coordination of movement. Flagging traffic near, around, and in work zones.
Understand and comply with safety regulations per Company policy and as directed by Foreman/Supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & Licenses:
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum one (1) year of construction experience preferred.
Valid unexpired driver’s license required.
Clean driving record required.
