The Opportunity:


The Junior Project Manager coordinates and supports External Affairs strategic initiatives with responsibility for driving project execution with internal and external partners. Works closely with External Affairs managers and other leaders to plan and execute projects and programs, including the identification of requirements, dependencies and development of schedules to manage timelines. Facilitates communication and motivates project stakeholders for the successful completion of work plans and timelines.






Position Summary:


The Junior Project Manager provides support to various managers within AlohaCare:  plans, implements, manages and completes assigned projects within established timelines; performs related work as required or assigned by the AlohaCare managers within External Affairs.  Requirements include broad technical knowledge, strong computer, inter-personal and written communication, organization, administrative skills and prior experience in project coordination.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Performs a variety of tasks to support AlohaCare External Affairs managers and directors.

Serve as a primary point of contact for project information and updates

Motivate project team members and manage project team meetings

Manage the development of projects assigned, and ensures effective communication to project team/staff members to fully understand the goals and expectations of the project, and or assignments given.  Meets deadlines, timelines, and commitments to ensure completion of projects and or assignments.

Creates and maintains all supporting project documentation and ensures distribution of documentation to appropriate staff as required.

Organize meetings with internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to: scheduling meetings, develop meeting agendas, and communicates meeting outcomes.

Manage databases and preparation of special projects: mailings, reports, and presentations.

Manage the development of projects and activities based on organizational strategic goals and priorities, gap analysis, needs assessments, performance improvement results, changes in policies and procedures and system updates.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Responsible to maintain AlohaCare’s confidential information in accordance with AlohaCare policies, and state and federal laws, rules and regulations regarding confidentiality.  Employees have access to AlohaCare data based on the data classification assigned to this job title.


Required Competencies & Qualifications:


Minimum High School Diploma.

Three to five years’ related experience or equivalent project coordination/management or administrative experience.

Combination of education or professional training or at least two years of work experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with an ability to work with cross functional teams internally and externally.

Strong verbal and writing skills in English to effectively communicate with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

Prior health care experience.

Possesses excellent time management and organizational skills; is dependable, enthusiastic, self-starting and self-motivated.  Uses time effectively, reacts professionally under pressure

Able to effectively work in a fast-paced and changing environment, manage multiple projects and priorities across multiple teams/projects.  Able to effectively and methodically implement, manage, monitor, track and/or report on assigned tasks and projects

Experience with computer systems and software programs (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).

Knowledge of spreadsheets/graphics, presentation, and databases.

Ability to work independently.


Preferred Qualifications:

Three to five years’ related experience or equivalent project coordination/management or administrative experience

Prior experience in community and/or government relations.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

May require prolonged sitting-up to 4 hours

Requires prolonged operation of a computer workstation, including the ability to type for extended periods of time on a keyboard during the scheduled work day.

Ability to communicate via telephone, and to communicate verbally and in writing using English.

May require occasional lifting, up to 20 pounds

Ability to work in high stress environment at times, with pressure of meeting multiple deadlines, and varying priorities.
