Alumna selected as Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi Poʻo Kula

Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi announced its new po‘o kula (head of school).

Kāhealani Nae‘ole-Wong ('91, '93, '00, '02) is the third head of school in the Hawaiʻi campus' history.

She has served as the campus’ assistant head of school and has been serving as the interim head of school over the past two months.

Nae‘ole-Wong has worked with Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi and tri-campus administrators and kumu to create a curriculum development infrastructure which results in the integration of Kula Hawai‘i (Hawaiian School) and 21st century skills.

She has served the Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi since 2003, first as a high school career academy coordinator. She later became po‘o kumu o ke kula ha‘aha‘a (elementary school principal) before transitioning to the assistant head of school in 2013.
