The UH Hilo Hoʻolaule‘a will be on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the UH Hilo Performing Arts Center Theater Parking Lot. The Alumni Zone and Open House will run from noon to 5 p.m. with live music and entertainment running until 9 p.m. This event is UH Hilo’s way of giving back to the community and will feature live music, food and craft vendors, alumni campus tours, alumni discounts in the bookstore, and displays from a number of academic divisions at UH Hilo and Hawaiʻi CC. A special offering this year will be the addition of the Natural & Health Sciences Open House and keiki science showcase including:
- Center for the Study of Active Volcanoes geology activity for keiki
- Minerology display
- Marine organism display
- Virtual Reality & 3D visualization station
