Cooking Demo with Chef Grant Sato ’97
'Onipa'a Members – we're cooking up something special for you!
Chef Grant Sato (AS '97) of the Kapi'olani Community College Culinary Arts program
will demonstrate how to make simple, flavorful food using locally grown products,
with an emphasis on Asian/Pacific flavor, local tastes and classic techniques.
Cost: Free for 'Onipa'a (Life) members, $25 for one guest. Light refreshments will be served.
Parking: Free – Parking Lot C
Attire: Aloha/casual business

While studying in the culinary program at Kapi'olani Community College (KCC), Grant Sato received the Food Service Student of the Year award. He went on to become chef instructor for the KCC Employment Training Center program from 1998-2001, during which time he was awarded the Francis Davis Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching. Sato was chef instructor for the KCC Culinary Program from 2001-2006. He is currently the KCC Commercial Enterprise sous chef for the Research Corporation of the University of Hawai'i, a program instructor for the KCC non-credit culinary program, a volunteer chef for PAL WEED and SEED Culinary Program at Campbell High School, and has been a scholarship donor to the KCC Culinary Arts Department since 2004.
