Live entertainment, prize giveaways, free t-shirts, information about UHAA and UH programs and campuses, not to mention the famous GEICO Gecko, were all part of the fun at the UH Alumni Association's first-ever UHAA Day at Windward Mall on Aug. 28.

Entertainer Billy V emceed the festivities and gave away prizes around Windward Mall's Center Stage. Visitors learned more about UHAA and its programs, chapters, events and partners, as well as University of Hawai'i programs. In addition to the many UH information displays, there was live entertainment by Waipuna and Ikaika Tecson & Audissey. During the program, UHAA presented event co-sponsor GEICO with its Partner of the Year award, and the famous Gecko thrilled the kids.Visitors also received free UHAA Alumni 'Ohana t-shirts.
"This is a new event for the UH Alumni Association," said Janet Yoshida Bullard '82, UHAA executive director and longtime member. "We're trying to be more active in the community, let people know what our organization is all about and build pride for UH."
